Profitability Using Second-Generation Bioethanol in Gasoline Produced in Mexico
نویسندگان
چکیده
Gasoline produced in Mexico by the productive company of state Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) mainly uses oil-derived ethers as oxygenators to reach Mexican Regulatory ‘Framework’s octane number. An alternative complying with these regulations could be use bioethanol an oxygenate. However, a gasoline component, this affect ‘Mexico’s food markets since sugar cane, and grains are primary inputs for local production. The main objective study is evaluate whether bioethanol, from corn stubble, additive profitable Mexico, perspective evaluation supply chain finances. purpose work contribute definition advantages limitations existence second-generation market Lignocellulosic biomass integrated into national production Mexico. starts theoretical research define stubble raw material, set up on its availability feasibility determined based geographic information system (GIS), through agricultural forecast approach, well integration costs financial analysis. results show that technically viable, but cost not competitive yet. Although price yet compared imported price, using fiscal incentive scheme considering decrease energy dependence, it would feasible produce

متن کاملAttainable region analysis for continuous production of second generation bioethanol
BACKGROUND Despite its semi-commercial status, ethanol production from lignocellulosics presents many complexities not yet fully solved. Since the pretreatment stage has been recognized as a complex and yield-determining step, it has been extensively studied. However, economic success of the production process also requires optimization of the biochemical conversion stage. This work addresses t...
متن کاملIntegration of first and second generation bioethanol processes using edible filamentous fungus Neurospora intermedia
Establishing a commercial, lignocellulose-based, second-generation ethanol process has received several decades of attention by both researchers and industry. However, a fully economically viable process still remains a long-term goal. The main bottleneck to this achievement is the recalcitrance of lignocellulosic feedstocks, although there are several other factors, such as the huge investment...
متن کاملTechnology Evaluation of Process Configurations for Second Generation Bioethanol Production using Dynamic Model-based Simulations
An assessment of a number of different process flowsheets for bioethanol production was performed using dynamic model-based simulations. The evaluation employed diverse operational scenarios such as, fed-batch, continuous and continuous with recycle configurations. Each configuration was evaluated against the following benchmark criteria, yield (kg ethanol/kg dry-biomass), final product concent...
